Confirmation is a ritual of initiation practiced in some Christian churches, its focus is on a baptised person receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The ritual recalls and relives the New Testament event called Pentecost, when the early believers received the Holy Spirit. It is one of the seven sacraments of the Catholic church.
